The same firestorm that destroyed the World Trade Center and other symbols of freedom is martyring tens of thousands of Christians around the world each year. Satan is the undisputed commander of the firestorm that seeks to deceive Christians into thinking that we cannot stand against evil. Firestorms with their large, destructive, very hot fire and sudden violent outbursts require extraordinary efforts to stop. This firestorm of evil is fueled with its timbers of mistrust, fear, prejudice, ignorance, and anger. Satan cloaks his evil in the superstitious masks of witchcraft and veils of oppression and hatred bringing death and destruction to every man, woman and child caught in his web of lies. Such Devastation can be stopped in only two ways: the entire landscape is consumed until there is nothing left to destroy, or   an effective FIRE LINE is established that fights fire with fire. God has given MEDICS International the vision to build the FIRE LINE...   —to stand in the gap acrss the continent of Africa, ...and prevent this firestorm from advancing, ...and to enable God's people to survive and thrive against this firestorm. The FIRE LINE vision seeks to bring the way, the truth, and the life of Jesus Christ (John 14:6) into the firstorm of evil and darkness spreading rapidly from the Middle East and North Africa. This vision focuses on existing African churches and their pastoral families to use their influence, skill, and potential to provide opportunities for Biblical, Christ-centered sustanable development within the local church's congregation, community, region and country. This is a comprehensive vision across the heart of Africa for long-term discipleship and a commitment to stand with our pastors and their spouses wherever they are and equip them to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19).       As MEDICS International has aided people around the world for the last 20 years three undeniable facts have emerged: Organized opposition to the gospel of Jesus Christ is increasingly more violent around the world.   The Great Commission given by Jesus is a command to go to all nations and make disciples. A commission is a command, not an option, but a clear directive to bring life-giving truth to all people.   God would have believers who have been blessed with resources and opportunity to stand in the gap and disciple and equip those soldiers of the cross who are standing and holding forth on the FIRE LINE.   5000 trained pastors and spouses along the FIRE LINE by 2010 Existing centers have 800 pastors currently enrolled.   Eight more centers are planned by the end of 2006. The plan is to have 30 operating by 2010, each graduating 100 local pastors and their spouses every two years.   Specificaly, it is our prayer, with help, to disciple and equip 5,000 pastors and their spouses along the FIRE LINE by the end of 2010.
